She lived in Mansfield all of her life, one of three children. Ruth graduated from Lucas High School, retiring from ThermoDisc. She loved flowers and gardening was her passion. Meticulous about her lawn, she took care of it into her 70s. She loved cats and donated to shelters regularly.
Ruth lived life on her own terms, with a deep love for the game of golf, which she played well into her 80s. Her enthusiasm for the sport was matched only by her sense of adventure. Ruth traveled widely throughout her life, often venturing abroad to experience new places and cultures. At home, Ruth’s independence shone through. She took great pride in caring for her property, completing a range of projects with her own two hands. Whether it was building a deck, repairing the roof, or crafting her own furniture, Ruth was a person who never hesitated to tackle a challenge head-on.
She is survived by Kimberly Addington, daughter; Dale Spayed (Jeanie), son; grandchildren, Joshua Addington, Samantha Addington, Daniel Spayde, and Austin Snyder.
Ruth was preceded by her parents; James Goodnight, brother; and Mary Hays, sister.
In accordance with Ruth’s wishes, no services will be held.
