Sandy K. Sargent

Sandy K. Sargent, 73, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday evening, July 11, 2017, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born April 2, 1944, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Kibler) Sams.

Sandy graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She had previously worked restoring carousel horses. A quiet, giving person, her most favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Camping, woodworking and drawing were how she spent her free time.

She is survived by three children, Carol Sargent (Rick O'Neil), Cheryl Lozier (Tim Lewis) and Brad Sargent (Stephanie Avery); eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alan (Linda) Sams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Oather White; second husband, Del Sargent; daughter, Candy Sams; two brothers; and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
