

Scott B. Corwin, 51, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 with his family by his side after a short illness. Born November 23, 1960 in Mansfield, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Bailey) Corwin.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and was employed at Omni Source. Scott’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives and spends here on this earth. His courage, great sense of humor and kind, caring heart brought so much joy to his family and friends.
Scott will be remembered as a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather who exhibited determination in all aspects of life. He taught many important life lessons to his family. His greatest joy was in spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melinda Corwin; four children, Brittany Corwin (Scott Dean), Jeremy Corwin, Matthew Corwin and Taylor Corwin, all of Mansfield; two very special grandchildren, Ava and Jackson Dean; two brothers, Darrell (Pam) Corwin of Ashland and Keith Corwin of Mansfield; three sisters, Yvonne (Jeff) Murray of Mansfield, Cindy (Karl) Egner and Julie Britton (Larry Amato), all of Shelby; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and two brothers-in-law, Greg (Belinda) Martin of Mifflin and Randy Martin of Mansfield; and a sister-in-law, Lori Moore of Cape Coral, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Spayde Neal; and uncle, Dwight Corwin.
Friends and family may visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with additional visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park with military honors presented by the U.S. Marine Corp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for his children’s education.
