

Shelby Ann Cooper, 16 years old of Lucas, OH, died Thursday, October 21, 2004 in MedCentral Health System Mansfield Hospital. She was born June 24, 1988 in Mansfield, to Tim and Tammy Grover Cooper. Shelby was an active member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church and the Youth Group. Shelby was a Junior at Lucas High School, where she was an avid volleyball and basketball player, two year regional qualifier in track, cord girl for the football team and was a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, French Club, and volunteered for Ohio Reads. She was also an active member of Lucas FFA, Lucas Leaders II 4-H Club, Richland County Jr. Fair Board and 4-H Jr. Camp counselor. She had an outgoing personality and many friends.
Surviving are her parents, Tim and Tammy Cooper of Lucas; brother, Scott Cooper of Lucas; paternal grandmother, Margaret D. Cooper of Lucas; maternal grandparents, Robert and Janet Grover of Lucas; aunts, Cheryl Jim Zimmer of Bluffton, Indiana, Lisa Leugers of Bluffton, Ohio, Sharon Cooper-Conover of Holstein, Iowa, and Susan Ralph Haley of Lucas; uncles, Steve Bev Grover of Lucas, Mike Kathy Grover of Lucas, David Cooper of Lucas, Tom Anna Cooper of Chicago, Illinois, and Jon Cooper of Lucas; many great-aunts and uncles; cousins; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Pete Cooper; maternal great-grandparents, Donald and Ethel Rummel and Clyde and Grace Grover; paternal great-grandparents, Ralph and Alice Dudgeon and Orville and Elizabeth Cooper.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, October 24 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Ron Daley. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Shelby at the funeral home. With the help of Lifeline of Ohio, Shelby's generous spirit lives on through her gift of organ donation.
