Sherry Cooke

Sherry Cooke, 71, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018, at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born April 24, ,1947, in Ashland, Ohio, to Donald and Vera (Lynn) Hettinger.

Sherry was a homemaker her entire life and was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful member of Dickey Church of the Brethren and enjoyed sitting in her cabin watching all of God's creatures. An avid knitter, she found great joy in teaching others her crafting. Sherry entered many items at the Ashland County Fair and won many awards over the years. She enjoyed her winter walks with her snowshoes through the woods surrounding her home. Traveling, singing and watching movies were just a few of the ways she spent her free time.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Larry Cooke; daughter, Bethany (Trevor) Monaghan of MI; three step daughters, Debbie (Ken) Bostic of Ashland, Sandy (Greg) Graves of Milan, OH, and Rebecca Cooke of TX; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; twin sister, Sheila (Jon) Sherman of FL; two half-sisters, Teri (Shawn) Noal of TX and Dona Hettinger of NY; cousin, Judy (Dave) Shoemaker of Ashland; and many other cousins, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Hettinger and step-mother, Anjelica Hettinger; grandmother and grandfather McKinley; and grandmother and grandfather Hettinger.
