Shirley H. McLaughlin

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family. Shirley also took pride in her work for the juvenile court system in Bristol, CT prior to her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and passing down amazing family recipes. She had a lifelong love of movies, and chocolate - anything chocolate! Shirley was known for her witty personality and became a friend to everyone she met.

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, to whom she was married for 59 wonderful years. Left to cherish the many fond memories are her children, Peter (Debbie) McLaughlin of Ayer, MA, Marilyn (Art) Ritchie of Mansfield, OH, Karen (Greg) Harper of Weymouth, MA and Eileen (Steve) Kerekesh of Santa Rosa, CA; also her grandchildren, Lauren (Ace) Elefteriadis, Kate (Don) Blakley, Jeff (Jean) Ritchie, Carrie Ritchie, Kelly (Matt) Gibson, Connor Harper; and great-grandchildren Alexa Blakley, Owen Ritchie, Tessa Ritchie, Mila Elefteriadis and Brooke Elefteriadis.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital. There will be a celebration of Shirley’s life held at a future date.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff of The Primrose Retirement Community. Over the last 12 years she loved her time with the wonderful residents and staff. She cherished being a member of the Busy Bees knitting club and being able to make items that were donated to a variety of different charities. The care she received here over the last weeks of her life went above and beyond.
