Simon Boyd

Simon A. 'Buck' Boyd, 58, of Springfield, Ohio died unexpectedly at his residence. Mr. Boyd was born August 15, 1944 in Otway, Ohio living in the Mansfield area 15 years prior to moving to Springfield. He was retired from Navistar International. He was a member of the American Rifle Association. He loved animals and was active in their care. Mr. Boyd was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by seven sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mable Hayes of Peebles, Ohio, Faye Maggard of Mansfield, Alma Lawhorn of Bellville, Martha Miller of Ontario, Nellie & Louis Strubhar of Mansfield, Ruby & Andy Ball of Mansfield and Dorothy Boyd of Crestline; a brother and sister-in-law, D. Jack & Marcia Boyd of Ontario; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and his special cat, Angel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon H. & Mallie A. Fultz Boyd; two brothers, Charles and Luther Boyd; his former wife, Emma Boyd; and seven special brothers-in-law.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Dale Adkins. Military services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
