

He attended Victory Chapel in Guam and the Salvation Army in Ohio. He enjoyed making new friends and playing jokes and tricks on his friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially at BBQ's.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine Mateo of Mansfield; his grandmother, Rosario Cruz of Mansfield; a brother, Curtis Mateo of Mansfield; a sister, Jenna Marie Grose of Mansfield; uncles, Ray (Sue) Mateo of Olivesburg, Ohio, Jesse (Amanda) Mateo, Frank Mateo, Nick Mateo all of Ashland, Allan (Cecil) Mateo of Washington, Francis Mateo of Connecticut, Peter (Joycely) Mateo of Guam, Don (Jennifer) Mateo of Mansfield and Joe Mateo of North Baltimore, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Mandy Harris of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pedro S. N. Mateo and two aunts, Judy (Ben) Mendiola and Rose Sue M. Rose.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Assembly, 323 Steele Avenue, Ashland conducted by Rev. Dr. Paul E. Tracy. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
