Steven Decatur Colbert, 47, of Ashland, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010, at Crystal Care Center. Born in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, on December 21, 1962, he was the son of D. C. Colbert and Eura Kiser Colbert Workman. Steve was a self taught guitar player and avid artist. He especially enjoyed drawing pictures for family and friends. Steve loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking, listening to and playing music.
He is survived by two brothers, David Colbert and Lonnie Heather Workman; two sisters, Laura Bill Leiter and Vicki Donnie Piatt. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services conducted by Pastor Harry Strachan will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church. Friends may visit at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mr. Colbert.
