
Tevin Lee Groscost, 47, of Mansfield passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 after a five year battle with diabetes. Born on November 18, 1961 in Mansfield, he was the son of Thomas Carroll and Shirley Lucille Long Groscost Reiter. He was the baby of five. Tevin graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 1980. He worked in the produce department at Kroger's, E & B Market, and Hawkins.
His loving wife survives him, Tracy L. Frye Groscost, whom he married August 16, 1997, their daughter, Tessa, and their son, Tanner, both at home. Also surviving Tevin are two sons living in Ashland, Tyler Groscost, and Tevin Levi Groscost; stepson, Joe Elliot; stepfather and his wife, Dave and Sis Reiter of Bourne, Texas; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Phil and Dixie Frye of Mt. Vernon; sister and brother-in-law, Tonya and Paul Hampton; brothers and sister-in-law, Tim Groscost, and Trent and Jackie Groscost, all of the Mansfield area; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sherry Frye and Jennifer and Brian Durbin of Mt. Vernon; aunts, Sally Junker of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Charity Long of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tevin was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Groscost and Shirley Long Groscost Reiter; grandparents, Cleo and Lucille Long, and Millard and Rebecca Groscost; brother, Todd Groscost; and uncle, Gary Long.
Tevin's wishes were to be cremated and there will be a memorial gathering to remember Tevin and visit with his family and friends on Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made for Diabetic Research, or Kidney Dialysis Research in care of the funeral home.
