
Thelma A. Watson Sheriff, 88, of Mansfield died Sunday evening, November 17, 2002 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home after an extended illness. Mrs. Sheriff was born October 19, 1914 in Chetopa, Kansas living in the Mansfield area most of her life. She had been employed with Woodville Elementary School where she worked in the cafeteria and sold Beeline fashions for over 15 years. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann & Jerry Fulkerson of Marion, Ohio, Brenda & Bill Weber and Linda Biddle, all of Mansfield; a son, Duane Sheriff of Mansfield; seven grandchildren and spouses, Teresa & Brian Carr of Prospect, Ohio, Scott Fulkerson & Erica Parsons of Marion, Ohio, Loren 'Buck' & Luciene Schmidt of Brazil, Ellen & Dave Absalom of Columbus, Ohio, Heather Schmidt & Forrest Wilburn of Columbus, Ohio, Julie Weber of Mansfield and Jason Weber of Mansfield; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wanda Watson of Perrysville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Howard Sheriff; her parents, Arthur & Anna Morton Watson; an infant daughter; two brothers, Carl and Harold Watson; and a sister, Lucille Watson.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. David Gilbert. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Xingu Missions, in care of Buck Schmidt, Vineyard @ Tuttle Crossing, 5400 Avery Road, Dublin, Ohio 43016.
