

Tim B. Dotson, 71, of Mansfield, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield. Born February 27, 1944 in Clintwood, VA, he was the son of Clarence and Clemmie (Rose) Dotson. A graduate of Savannah High School, Tim was a proud veteran serving in the Navy two years on active duty and four years as a reservist during Vietnam. He also was later a member of the Army National Guard for eight years. Tim was a lifetime member of Amvets Post 31 and a member of Lexington VFW. He worked at General Motors for over 38 years in the welder maintenance department and also taught safety training. A avid Browns fan, Tim enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing Euchre, and also enjoyed a good argument. He loved his family dearly, especially his wife of 49 years, Helen "Jeanie" (Smith) Dotson, and was a wonderful father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie; daughters, Patricia (Dan) Durbin, Michelle (Gary) Bursley, and Timi Robertson; grandchildren, Lauren, Alec (Elizabeth), Corey, and Taylor Durbin, Laine and Grant Leatherow, and Courtney, Jansen, and Joshua Robertson; sister, Nancy (Ray) Bond; step father, John Rose; nieces, Angie Bello and Shari McQuate; nephew, Lincoln Dotson; best friends, Joe and Barb Henry; and numerous other close family members and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Dotson, and his step father who raised him, Clyde Shumate.
According to Tim's wishes, there will be no public services held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Tim Dotson.
