
Viola Irene Popp, 88, passed on to her eternal reward with her children at her side on Wednesday morning, September 1, 2010. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior and reunited with her beloved husband, Lawrence. Born November 19, 1921 in Harper, Kansas, she was the daughter of Catherine E. Schad and John A. Meister. Vi was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Middle-Bellville Road and had been in the faith for over 70 years. She retired from Richland Screw Machine after 16 years of service in the office. A doting mother and grandmother, Vi enjoyed making doll houses and furniture for her children and grandchildren and was also an avid reader.
She is survived by three children, Gaylene Ann Gus Peter of Mansfield, Stan W. Barb Popp of Lexington and daughter, Joy Lynn Steve Boliantz of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Lisa Weidner of Mansfield, Troy Peter of Marblehead, Jenny Justin Brant of Lexington, Amy Popp of Seattle, WA, Michelle Adrian Webel and Sheryl Josh Getz, all of Mansfield; nine great-grandchildren, Addilyn Brant, Logan, Chloe and Coleson Webel, Luci, Finn and Miles Getz, Ashlie Thackrah, and Raine Weidner; two brothers, Albert Helen Meister and Jim Meister, all of Mansfield; a sister, Barbara Scott of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lawrence R. Popp on March 17, 2008; granddaughter, Kristi Boliantz; parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1332 Middle-Bellville Road. Robert Freund will conduct the services, assisted by Eric Weingartner.
