
Virginia Helen Bowling, 74, of Mansfield, went home to be with the lord Saturday, October 18, 2008. Born February 15, 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Chesley and Alice Howell Burt. An area homemaker, she took great pride in keeping her home nice and neat. She enjoyed collecting light houses and volunteered for many years for Madison Booster BINGO. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her children, Linda Jim Hagerman and Roger Laura Bowling, all of Mansfield, and John Sheri Bowling of Biloxi, Mississippi; grandchildren, Michael Melissa Hagerman of Columbus, Bryan Kara Hagerman of Dayton, Michelle Hagerman, Kelly Bowling, and David Bowling all of Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Dylan Hagerman of Columbus, and Alex and Abby Hagerman of Mansfield; brothers and sisters, Walter Eleanor Burt of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Lillian Robert Blank of Port Charlotte, Florida, Barbara LoVerde of Oceangate, New Jersey, John Burt of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Stephen Noreen Burt of Erie, Pennsylvania; her dog, Smokey, who was her companion and protector, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raymond Bowling; son, Dennis Bowling; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Melva Burt; and brother-in-law, Eugene LoVerde, who lovingly called her his "little iodine" and a sister-in-law, Seiko Burt.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Park Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Dr. Faith Proietti. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mrs. Bowling.
