
Virginia M. Merrill, 88, of Mansfield, died Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Brethren Care in Ashland. Born June 23, 1918 in Bettsville, she was the daughter of Walter Calvin and Ruth Viola Burhman Funk. Mrs. Merrill was the owner of Merrill's Beauty Shop. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one son, Calvin W. Sandra Merrill of Wooster; two daughters, Cheryl Garry Heston, and Tammaie K. Dr. William Sesco, both of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Wendy Craig Fry of Wooster, Tracy Derick McDaniel of Orville, Craig W. Diane Merrill of Wooster, Taundra Doug Forup of Circleville, Michell Charles Howell of Blythwood, South Carolina, Dawn Heston fiancé, Chris Tomsic of Charlotte, South Carolina, Dr. Timothy Sharon Sesco of Ontario, and Jamie Tarra Sesco of Lucas; 13 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, and Cassandra Fry, Brook and Caden McDaniel, Thane and Baden Forup, Cailey and Chase Howell, and Ashley, Alicia, Cody, and Corey Sesco; one sister, Juanita Clark of Bradenton, Florida; nieces and nephews, Denise Clark, David Clark, Jr., Sharon Pletcher, Dee Dee Scott, and Vaughn Mullet; and cousin, David Pierce of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gayle Merrill in 1986; parents; sister-in-law, Janeth Mullet; and mother-in-law, Audrey Mae Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Jerry Gess. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Denise Marikis. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
