

Virginia retired from Essex Wire and was a part of the Kairo's Outside Prison Ministry in Marion. She enjoyed going to church when she could with her daughter at Apex Church in Marion and would often say that "The Old Rugged Cross" was her song. She loved to go fishing, camping, golfing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Virginia wasn't only a mother and grandmother, but a friend to many. She never judged and would help in anyway she could. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Roy R. Woods and Wayne R. Woods, both of Marion; daughter, Charlene Mae Ward of Marion; grandchildren, Stacy Guill and Roy R. Wood, Jr., both of Mansfield, David G. Ward of Marion, and Debbra L. Ward of Cuyahoga Falls; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; and was also a grandmother to her ex-daughter-in-law, Kay Townsend, her children, and their children, all of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Johnson and Lydia Mae (Huffman) Guinup, and her ex-husband, Jay Woods.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S.Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Dave DiPietro. Friends may call prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
