Virginia "Ginny" E. Zody

Virginia "Ginny" E. Zody, 84, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 15, 2018, under hospice care at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born June 22, 1934, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late James and Helen (Cervinski) Southard.

She married Robert "Bob" Zody and they shared 57 wonderful years together in which he treated her like a queen. Their love was remarkable and a special gift to their family. She looked forward to her annual trip to Las Vegas with her husband. Ginny was a homemaker and wonderful mother to her daughters, always making sure they were cared for and treated each of them equally. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her top priority and she insisted they be together at the holidays. Many wonderful and treasured memories were made around her kitchen table.

She is survived by three daughters, Dianne Blamer, Deb (Dale) Fellure and Barb (Ed) Armstrong; five grandchildren, Stacey (Matt) DeHart, Troy (Julia) Blamer, Misty Watson (fiancé, Paul Castelvetere), Dusty (Audra) Fellure and Dan Armstrong; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Norris; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Zody on December 15, 2017; a brother, Kenneth Southard; and a sister, Bev Maffett.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Dr. Faith Proietti will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Cemetery.
