Walter Wayne Lewis

Walter was a 1951 graduate of Ashland High School. Shortly after graduation, he married his beloved wife, Betty (Wells) Lewis on November 9, 1951, and they shared 56 years together. Walter took two years of Business college and in 1952 earned an Ohio State Farmers degree. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1958, and he was stationed in Germany. He was employed at US Auto Glass for 19 years, and retired in 1997 from The College of Wooster where he worked as a custodian. Walter loved traveling, camping with his family, listening to country music and watching television.

He is survived by his sons, Rex (Tracy) Lewis, Mark (Debi) Lewis and Tim (Cheryl) Lewis; a daughter, Jackie Andrews; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and brothers, Edward, Robert and George.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ashland Cemetery, 523 West Main Street, Ashland, OH on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:00am. Military honors will be conducted by Ashland County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family.
