He spent much of his youth in Oswego, Nappanee and Columbia City, Indiana and attended a one room brick Amish school named Caris. As there were not many Amish schools, the one room school housed all grades, and some of Wayne's most pleasant memories were of going home with his Amish friends and staying over night at their homes.
Wayne was a 1945 graduate of Columbia City High School and following high school, he began working for Weatherhead in Columbia City, Indiana. After 20 years, he was transferred to Cleveland, Ohio and then to Ashland, Ohio when Weatherhead purchased Hyco, Inc. Wayne loved golfing, bowling and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carolyn (Fryman) Method; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Sue Method and Marcus and Sharon Method all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Kate Method of Columbia City, Indiana; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Pressler of Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Pratt) Method; his second wife, Opal (Wise) Method; and a sister, Betty (Method) Goudy.
