

William Eugene Bishop, 71, of Mansfield, died Thursday evening, May 13, 2004, at his home after an extended illness. He was born September 5, 1932, in Dundas, Ohio, to Henry and Edna Gastin Bishop. He retired from Richland Molded Brick Company and had also worked at Cole Tool and Die. William was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army with Company C, 714th Tank Battalion.
He is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Fenton of Nekoosa, Wisconsin; three brothers and their wives, Kenneth Bishop of Wadsworth, Ohio, Jack and Shareen Bishop of Burton, South Carolina, Glen and Wanda Bishop of Mansfield; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Donna and Doc Smith and Judy and Jack Adams, all of Mansfield; a grandson and his wife, Bob and Debby French of Mansfield; a granddaughter and her husband, Betty and Wes Hout of Johnsville; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Teresa Bishop in February 2004.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas will be held Wednesday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
