William Creech

Born April 28, 1924 in Valeria, Kentucky, he was the son of Sydney B. and Ella Jane (Perry) Creech. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a former member of the American Legion and the VFW. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of the Venus Lodge #152 F&AM and Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus. He loved fishing and enjoyed painting, woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by a daughter, Nana Jane Creech of Mansfield; two sons, William N. (Nancy) Creech of Munroe Falls, Ohio and Robert L. (Robin) Creech of Hudson, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Elly, Nanette, Richard, Kenny, Susan, Ashleigh and Alex; numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, Willard (Donna) Creech and Marion (Barbara) Creech all of Marion, Indiana; a sister, Mable Broughton of Newark, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel (Crawford) Creech; two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario where Masonic Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. John Johnson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park where full military services will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
