
William Henry Hatfield, 81, of Auburndale, Florida, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center. Born March 7, 1925 in Shelby, he was the son of Fred Monroe and Mary Lee Crain Hatfield, Sr. He attended Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, Florida. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hatfield was a member of Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M., 32nd Al Koran Shrine, life member of V.F.W. Post #3494, M.O.C. and Amvets Post #26 and AA in Mansfield. He was a member of Legion #8 in Winter Haven and Moose Lodge in Lakeland, Florida.
Mr. Hatfield is survived by his wife, Anna B. Seyoc Hatfield; two sons, Robert L. Rita Hatfield, Charles E. Karen Hatfield, all of Mansfield; daughter, Barbara E. Stan Popp of Mansfield; stepdaughter, Diana Richard Stauffer of Mansfield; stepson, Randy Phyllis Martin of Florida; five grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Sue R. Zernis, B. Jean Jack Johnson, Joyce Casler, Joan McCall, all of Mansfield, Betty Heil of Montana, Marguerite Stringfellow of Wellington, Georgia Martin Helmick of Fredericktown; and brother, Fred M. Pam Hatfield of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary M. Nagel Hatfield, sister, Mary Louise Leedy, brothers, Lucius and Luther Hatfield and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Hatfield.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Friday, March 9 from 6-8 p.m. with memorial services following at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date.
