
William G. Linkenbach, 79, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Mifflin Care Center after a three year illness. Bill was born in Clyde, Ohio on June 23, 1930 to the late Gordon and Edna Ball Linkenbach. He married Regina G. Buchman on October 6, 1951, who survives him. His life gave testimony to the four pillars of life: Family- a loving, caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Job- Buchman's Electric, as an electrician followed by twenty-four years of responsibly managing this family business; and in retirement, worked at McCready Leasing, Inc. Church- serving as usher and lay distributor at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Community- proud member of his much loved Ontario Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Rebecca M. and Gerald Stacklin of New Washington, Ohio; his son, Rex W. and Brenda Linkenbach of Mansfield, Ohio; granddaughter, Jennifer C. and Ben Collene; grandson, Jeffrey A. and Lyndsey Stacklin; grandson, Grant C. Linkenbach; granddaughter, Margaret C. Linkenbach; great-grandchildren, Matthew B. Collene, Samuel T. Collene, Grace C. Collene, and Brockton R. Stacklin; sister, Donna Valko, Bellevue, Ohio; and brothers, Robert and Sylvia Linkenbach of Fremont, Ohio, and Donald Linkenbach of Littleton, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sanford Linkenbach; and sister, Eileen Humes.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield, where a vigil service will follow at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. Peter's Catholic Church conducted by Father Keith McCormack. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ontario Lion's Club in care of the funeral home and the Msgr. Edward C.
