

William H. Peterson, Jr., 91, of Mansfield, died Monday afternoon, February 14, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Born April 4, 1913, in Cambridge, he was the son of William and Bertha Wisenbarger Peterson. Bill retired from Westinghouse Corp. in 1974 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as usher and also was a member of the United Builders Class. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working in his yard and was a member of A.A.R.P.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Jane Flickinger Peterson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Melba Peterson Eichinger of Centerville, Carol and Ron Stake of Mansfield; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Goldie Steele of California, Mary Jane Wymer of Arizona, and Thelma Ousley of Mansfield; and three brothers, Clarence Wisenbarger of Mansfield, James Peterson of Bellville, and John Peterson of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles Wisenbarger, Roy Peterson, George Peterson, Franklin Peterson; and five sisters, Edna Hartley, Ann Messer, Edith Kimble, Florence Hooper, and Rose Hooper.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, February 16 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Shawn Bishop. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
