William Thayer, 69, of Mansfield, passed away Monday evening, March 13, 2017, at the Good Shepherd in Ashland, Ohio. He was born May 18, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Lucius Ira Thayer and Elydia Elizabeth Hanlin Thayer.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for two years. He retired from F.E. Myers Company after many years of service.
He is survived by two daughters, Tiffany (Chris) Young of Ashland and Peggy Thayer of Doylestown, OH; two sons, William James Thayer, Jr. and Joseph (Kristi) Thayer, both of Mansfield; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
There will be no services or visitation at this time. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
