

William B. Windsor, Sr., 84, of Ashland died early Wednesday morning, December 11, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Windsor was born February 18, 1918 in Iselin, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence and Emily Roose Windsor and was an area resident most of his life. He retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company and worked on his farm after his retirement. William served as Past President and Secretary of the United Rubber Workers Union #17 and had been a paper delivery person on a rural route for the Ashland Times Gazette.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Slayton Windsor, whom he married May 11, 1940; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Clarence and Darlene Windsor of Mansfield, Roger Windsor of Naples, Florida, Jack Windsor and William Windsor, Jr., both of Ashland, and Gary and Edna Windsor of Greenwich; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Tom Patton and Emily and John Patton, both of Mansfield; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Donald and Thelma Windsor of Sarasota, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and his buddy, Buster the dog. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank, Clarence, and Kenny; a sister at birth; and grandson, Tom Patton, Jr.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday, December 12 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services to be held at the funeral home Friday at 3:00 p.m., conducted by Dr. John Freeman, pastor of First Church of the Open Bible on Rayfield Drive. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
