
Willima "Billie" Rae Garber Bishop Fisher Hayes, 78, of Ashland, died Thursday, April 09, 2009 at Brethren Care in Ashland. Born September 15, 1930 in Deerfield, Virginia, she was the daughter of William A. and Rosamond R. Richards Garber. She worked at Samaritan Hospital for 30 years as a PBX Operator. She was a member of Ashland Church of the Brethren and also a part of Singles Unlimited. She enjoyed gardening and gathering family history and loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Racheal George Baxter, Chuck Kim Fisher, Darryl Cathy Fisher Hayes, and Allen Fisher Hayes, all of Ashland, and Deborah Tim Bernhard of Shiloh; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Gwynne Dick Becker of Ashland; special friend, Darwin C. Hyde; seven step children; three nieces; and four cousins in Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Wendell R. Bishop, Edward L. Fisher, and Jack E. Hayes; daughter-in-law, Julie Fisher; granddaughter, Amanda Baxter; nephew, Douglas Becker; and cousin, Janet Hamm.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland, conducted by Pastor Carl Cawood. Friends may call one hour prior from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dickey Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made the First Church of the Brethren, 122 E 3rd St, Ashland.
