
Woodrow W. Enix, 87, of Mansfield, died Thursday afternoon, June 10, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 11, 1922, in Fitch, Kentucky, he was the son of Isaac and Armintie 'Mint' Hardyman Enix. He was formerly employed at Westinghouse Corp. as a leadman. Mr. Enix was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving from 1941 to 1945 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He loved spending time with his family. Mr. Enix also enjoyed traveling, gardening, and carpentry.
He is survived by his wife, Odelene Stephens Enix; daughter, Penny S. Doug McClain of Ontario; two sons, Donald R. Janis Enix of Lawton, OK and David E. Enix of Ontario; five grandchildren, Kimberley Bret Jamison, Rachele Jim Meade, Donald Carrie Enix, Jr., Daniel Enix, and Justin Enix; three step grandchildren, Kevin Zinda Thomas, Misty Roberts and Tracey Clay; two great-grandchildren, Riley Meade and Mika Enix; six step great-grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Levi Hadley, John Roberts, Megan Enix, Angela Enix and Zarra Thomas; brothers, John Bonnie Enix and Cecil Bob Enix; a sister, Ruth David Ash; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth, Clyde and Ivan Enix; sisters, Louise Enix and Mildred Steagall; granddaughter, Daphne Daniels; and great-grandson, Peyton Enix.
Friends may visit from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park with military honors by the U.S. Marine Burial Detail.
