David Jonathan Pataconi, age 45, passed away in Tucson, Arizona on March 16, 2026 after a brave battle with cancer. David was born in Kirkland, Washington December 16, 1980 to Dwight and Annie (Hull) Pataconi, and moved to Tucson in 1985. David grew up loving and exploring the desert and called himself "a true desert rat". One of his favorite memories was the summer before he entered middle school. He his 3 best friends, Brad, Jason, and Drew decided to track how many rattlesnakes lived in the neighborhood (lots!). He was employed by the University of Arizona, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences as an Information Technologist and especially enjoyed engineering the large university events. David was also a Christian musician with nearly 200 published songs in his catalog through the label AD Windblown Media Records, including hits "God Alone", "Captivate My Heart" and "Tears in My Coffee". He performed 3 years at Kingdom Come Festival in Greentown, Indiana and will be honored there this year on June 20, 2026, at 2:30 PM.
David was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh. He particularly enjoyed sharing corny "dad jokes". His greatest joy in life however was sharing the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. No matter who you were or what curve ball life through at you, David loved as Jesus loved and enjoying introducing others to the Lord.
He is survived by both of his parents as well as his maternal grandparents Charles Hull and Beverly Azenara, his lovely wife Sondra (Gloden), children Abby and Nathan, brother Daniel Pataconi (Carolyn), sister Holly Burmeister (Allen) and numerous beloved extended family members, and friends whom he loved just as much as family.
Services were held at Casas Church, Tucson, Arizona on April 19, 2026 with additional assistance by Marana Mortuary.
