March 12, 2009- October 3, 2020
Our sweet Jackson, “Goose,” was born March 12, 2009 in Colby, Kansas to Joshua and Lindsey Clark. Jackson tragically left this earth too soon and returned to live with his loving Heavenly Father, alongside his younger brother Cameron, as a result of an impaired driver hitting their family’s vehicle as they were traveling to Utah for Fall Break.
Jackson is the oldest of five siblings whom he loved, adored and protected unconditionally. Jackson was a bright and energetic young man, who was full of life. He was adventurous, loved to explore and enjoyed anything outdoors. He was an enthusiastic fisherman and spent hours casting and reeling in “whoppers” at any given opportunity. Jackson loved animals of all kinds and was quite knowledgeable on the topic. He was often found hunting for lizards, snakes and other creatures in the wash behind his home. Jackson also enjoyed being involved in the Cub Scouts of America organization. During his years as a Cub Scout he earned all the rank advancements necessary to receive the Arrow of Light award. He won 1st place overall at the 2019 Catalina Counsel Pinewood Derby and qualified to race his car in New York City at Times Square.
A lot of Jackson’s time was spent on the soccer field. He was a talented key player and shared his love for the game with those around him. Some of his favorite past times were spent on the dirt bike track when his family lived in California.
Jackson excelled in everything he put his mind to. He had a thirst for learning and couldn’t get enough of a good book. In his downtime he could be found with his nose deep into a thick novel, creating worlds on Minecraft, playing card and board games and engaging in detailed conversations about Star Wars. Jackson was a light to all who knew him. He had many friends and was known for his tender heart and loving spirit towards others. He was a hugger and never failed to express his love for his family members.
Jackson was silly. He had an amazing sense of humor beyond his years. He loved to tease and tell jokes and then laugh with a Jackson-sized grin on his face. He was easy to have around and his presence in this earthly life will forever be missed. Our hearts are shattered by the unexpected loss of this stellar, young boy. His family finds peace in knowing that his mission is being continued on the other side of the veil. Families are eternal and we look forward to being reunited with him in the next life. Jackson is survived by his father, Joshua Clark; mother, Lindsey VanWoerkom Clark; siblings Katelynn (9), Austin (5), and Nathan (1); grandparents, aunts, uncles, many cousins and close friends.
