Brilliant, fun, and loving father and brother, Arthur (Art) Piejko was preceded in death by his parents Anatol and Casimira Piejko. Art is survived by his former wife Kyleen Piejko, their three children Michael, Rachel, and Will Piejko, his brother and sister-in-law Alex and Beth Piejko, nephews Josh and Thom Piejko, and niece Sarah Piejko-Brown.
Art was born on September 9, 1967 in upstate New York where his parents had settled after immigrating from Poland. Graduate of Clarkson University, Art moved to Texas in pursuit of his impressive electrical engineering career specializing in computer chip design. Art continued his education with advanced electrical engineering and business degrees from Rice University and St. Edwards University. During his career, Art earned multiple patents demonstrating his intelligence and passion within the field, forming lifelong friends along the way.
From a young age, Art was an incredibly talented musician who played the violin in the Austin Civic Orchestra in addition to learning the accordion, piano, and electric guitar. He always enjoyed attending symphonies, ballets, and concerts. From his two sons, Art learned to love sports and became involved as a coach for their baseball teams growing up. Additionally, he loved to encourage and attend his daughter’s dance recitals, bringing flowers to her after each performance. Art loved to travel, especially to see his family in Marcy, New York, around the world to London, France, Canada, and across the United States. Each year, Art was excited to make the short trip to Houston to attend the Polish festival to eat authentic foods and listen to music he enjoyed from his childhood. When at home, Art enjoyed working outside in the yard and fixing things around the house. More than anything, Art loved spending quality time together with his family and friends.
Art’s funeral mass service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Horseshoe Bay, Texas.
