

Bessie Lou "Bette" Poe, age 90, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her home in Granite Shoals. She was born May 7, 1922, in Caddo, Texas to Willie G. Bort and Bessie Lou (Bilbrey) Bort. Bette spent most of her youth in and around Graham, Texas where she grew up and went to school.
She was a former resident of Snyder for many years before moving to Granite Shoals in 1986 where she became an active member of the First Baptist Church. Bette was a homemaker and trained and worked as an x-ray technician. At the time of her passing she was working as an x-ray technician at Shepperd Medical Clinic in Burnet where she had worked for many years.
Bette is survived by her son Dennis Harman and his wife Lynn of Oceanside, California; daughter-in-law Barbara Harman of Marble Falls; grandchildren Hunter Harman of Snyder, Brad Harman, Jr. of Leander, Shannon Scott of El Paso, and Jacy Harman of Oceanside; great grandchildren, Hunter and Tanner Harman, Ryan and Rylie Scott and Braxton Harman.
Bette was preceded in death by husbands Thomas D. Harman, Billy Joe Poe, and her son Brad Harman.
A visitation was held Wednesday afternoon February 20, 2013, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home from 5 to 7. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Granite Shoals with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Serving as pallbearers were deacons of the church.
