AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Charles Martin Severance
14 avril 1928 – 11 novembre 2020
Charles Martin Severance graduated to his eternal home on November 11, 2020. He was born to Rollin and Henrietta Severance on April 14, 1928. Charles was one of seven children and was predeceased by his parents, five siblings, and his beloved son Duane Charles Severance. He is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Gloria, his daughter Deb, son-in-law Ted, as well as five grandsons, three granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.
Charles graduated from Saginaw High School and began working for Severance Tool, a company his father started during World War II. He wore many hats during his life-long employment, including General Manager, treasurer, and overall handyman for machine repairs when needed. He also collaborated with Dr. Robert Milton Hall on the invention of the high speed drill used during oral surgery.
His many interests and talents were generously applied in his community in service to the Saginaw Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, Second Presbyterian Church and Chapter Head for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers for many years.
Charles had a deep abiding faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and was a devoted family man. Two days before his passing found him calling many family members bidding farewell and reminding them to “keep the Faith” and “stay close to the Lord”.
Many special memories of times spent together will be treasured by all who loved him until we meet again.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Gloria and her family. I enjoyed a very fruitful relationship with Charlie while being active in SME. He was very supportive of me in all my endeavor’s at SME over the years. We enjoyed each other’s company and I felt he was very good friend and mentor to me.

Aunt Gloria and Family - I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Chuck. I learned so much, and had great fun working together with him through the years. With his energy, there was never a dull moment. As I think back, I really appreciated his desire to expand and expose industrial education to the area through SME (Society or Manufacturing Engineers). It was a reflection of his love for people and industry.

So sorry about Uncle Chuck. Rollie Severance and I use to hang out together and work with Chuck here at Severance Tool. So we always called him Uncle Chuck. I always enjoyed working with Uncle Chuck and spending time with him at SME events and other shows. He was a good man and will be missed very much. He was always helpful when I needed to know anything. I thought of him as a good friend.
