Dawson is safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior. Dawson passed on August 11, 2013 at his home in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. He was born on April 4, 1984 in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Clear Lake City where he attended 1st to 9th grade in Clear Lake ISD. He graduated from Lutheran South High School and went on to the Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Austin, Texas. Dawson fell in love with Austin and stayed to begin building his culinary career. He helped to open Trattoria Lisina in Driftwood, Texas, and worked hard to hone his culinary and management skills.
Dawson moved to Horseshoe Bay to be near his family and last worked with Horseshoe Bay Resort and the Marriott Hotel. He was the Executive Banquet Chef and his passion for cooking and people made for a perfect match at this position. Dawson loved spending time with his parents and brothers and hanging out with his friends. He enjoyed his time on Lake LBJ boating and jet skiing and playing golf on his days off. Dawson loved his volunteer work in Llano, Texas – cooking with the group at Fuel Coffee House to feed people in need of a meal. His passion was creating sumptuous culinary meals and feeding his family and friends. He was proud of the awards and recognitions he received with Marriott and always shared accolades with his team members. His warm and kind heart led him to strong relationships with many who need him. He never met a stranger.
Dawson is survived by his mother, Patti A. Cohen; father, Will E. Cohen; brother, Will S. Cohen; brother, Matthew H. Cohen; Godmother, Gayle Greenwood and Grandmother, Opal Cohen.
Dawson was preceded in death by his loving little sister, ABI and his father, William Robert Ussery.
Dawson will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his indelible spirit will live forever.

This organization works to send over 200 healthy meals to children in need of sustenance every weekend and holiday of the school year. Dawson had interest in bringing recognition to this need.
