

Herbert Dwayne Schuessler born August 22, 1947, in Llano, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 11, 2022, at his home in Spicewood, TX surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Dwayne was most proud of his family. He had always been very involved and dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many, many friends that he considered family.
Dwayne worked as an ironworker and was a proud life member of Ironworkers union local 482. He was very involved with the Spicewood community, Dwayne served as Spicewood VFD’s first fire Chief and was instrumental in building the department from the ground up. Dwayne also served on the Spicewood Community Center board for many years and chaired the Spicewood Homecoming BBQ. Dwayne was also the President of Fall Creek Cemetery. Dwayne started S&S welding in the early ’90s and was very successful. He worked with Texas A&M University and the University of Texas in the research and development of earthquake building failure. Dwayne was the Song Director and a Deacon of Spicewood Baptist Church for many years. Dwayne also served on the Burnet County Livestock Show Board and the Burnet County Fire Council.
Dwayne was an avid hunter, he enjoyed hunting in the Hill Country and at his ranch in Colorado. He taught all his boys his secrets of hunting and tracking. His most prized moments were hunting with his boys.
Dwayne is proceeded in death by his father Marvin Herbert Schuessler and his mother Peggy Hollingsworth and husband Coke, brother Travis Clark Schuessler, and great-nephew Randall Hugh Hibler.
He is survived by his wife, the only woman tough enough to keep up with him, DiAnne Schuessler, his son who he is supremely proud of Dr. Matthew Schuessler and wife Keren. Daughter Leticia Schuessler, son Jason Sauer and wife Natasha, grandchildren Colten Dwayne Schuessler, Baily Schuessler and wife Sierra, Elizabeth “Biffy” Schuessler, Mattilyn “Matti” Schuessler, Cody Sauer, Chasity Sauer, Cordyn Sauer, Coleson Sauer, and bonus grandson Dusty Hibler and Katie. Great-grand children Harper, Hudson, Wyatt, and bonus great-grandsons Lain and Beau. Step-mom Betty Schuessler, Sister Judy Schuessler, brother Hollis Schuessler and wife Joan. Nephew Randy Hibler and wife Valerie and daughter Amber, Marvin Blackford and wife Meghan, sons Jaxon, Gunner and daughter Autumn, and very dear friends Terry and Vickie Bittle.
The family would like to thank Dwayne’s hospice nurse Natalia for all her care and compassion. Dwayne called her his lovely, lovely lady.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 6 – 8 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM, also at Clements-Wilcox Funeral home with interment at Fall Creek Cemetery. Pall Bearers: Dr. Matthew Schuessler, Jason Sauer, Colten Schuessler, Baily Schuessler, Cody Sauer, Dusty Hibler, Randy Hibler, Terry Bittle & Marvin Blackford.
Officiants: Timothy Wharton and Dr. Matthew Schuessler.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give a donation to The Spicewood Community Center or The Spicewood Baptist Church.
