

Glenn received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in August 1944. He worked for the Veterinary Service of the Department of Agriculture until his retirement on February 28, 1980. Glenn was commissioned as a Captain, Veterinary Corps, US Army in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a Mason and member of Henry Thomas Lodge No. 278 (Smithwick, TX), the Shriners and was active in the Marble Falls Senior Citizen Activity Center. He made his home in Granite Shoals, TX in the mid to late 1970’s.
Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Vickers, his parents and a sister, Evelyn Elinda Driscoll. Francis Glenn Vickers and Eula Singleton were married November 12, 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Eula Vickers, and his daughter, Sue Vickers of Marble Falls; 3 step-sons: Kirby Singleton & wife Margaret of Richmond, TX, Keith Singleton & wife Kathy of Sachse, TX, Kurtis Singleton & wife Taira of Marble Falls, TX; four granddaughters: Sherry Singleton, Amy Singleton Kliesing, Megan Singleton & Bailey Davis, three grandsons: Steven Singleton, Mathew Singleton & Harlen Thomas Singleton, four great –grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Glenn is also survived by cousins in Alabama and Florida, by his brothers-in-law, Dr. Victor H. Driscoll, DVM and his family from Wharton, TX and Pete Coburn & his wife Marilyn of Alvin, TX and by his sisters-in-law Eloise Lubojasky of Sugarland, TX and Jeanne Coburn of San Marcos, TX.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Granite Shoals with Rev.Randy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Mathew Singleton, Steven Singleton, Ernie Coburn, Brett Burkhart, Cris Hernandez, and Jesse Kleising, II.
The family thanks Tammy Arivette and Cindy Mabry for their dedicated care of Glenn and for the special relationship which they and Glenn developed and nurtured over time. We also wish to thank the First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals for all of their love and support and a special thanks to those from the church who made home prayer visits.
Memorials may be made to Marble Falls Senior Citizen Activity Center or First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals.
