AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Glenn Anthony Savage
31 août 1939 – 11 mars 2020
On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, Glenn Anthony Savage, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at age 80.
Glenn was born August 31, 1939 in East Chicago, Indiana to Anthony and Ann (Rastutas) Savage. He worked in the steel mills of Indiana and eventually began attending classes to become an electrician. On April 11, 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Annabell Courneya, after proposing to her on their way to the Senior Prom. In 1972, Glenn helped move his parents to Texas and decided the warm weather was where he wanted to live and raise his family. He moved to Burnet, TX, with Pat and their five boys, and together, in Texas’ Hill Country, they raised Glenn, Mike, Rick, Phil, and Steve. Glenn began working for the LCRA, where he retired supporting Texas’ wildlife and natural resources. Glenn enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. You could find him often with his troop of boys, looking for worms and stringing fishing poles. Glenn had a knack for creating beautiful pieces of furniture; there is still a set of wooden shelves in his home that he built many years ago. He often attempted to help Pat with cooking, but his food was quickly dubbed, “burnt by Dad.” Glenn did his best to attend everyone’s athletic events; he was often seen going from Freshman to Junior Varsity and ending at Varsity games. He will always be an avid Chicago Bears fan with an unwavering support and hope for a win. Glenn could be described as a gentle giant; he held those around him to a high standard, took pride in his families’ accomplishments, and was always willing to share a laugh or smile.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Anthony, his mother, Ann, and three sons, Glenn, Rick, and Phil. He is survived by his wife Pat, two sons, Mike and Steve, sister Jean LaRocco, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
