On August 29th, the world lost a true force of nature, a strong loving Mother, Nana, Banana and family rock, Jacquelyn "Jacque" Laverne Thomason. Born on November 3, 1948, in Alice, Texas, Jacque was the loving daughter of Andrew "Jack" V. Watts and Monteene L. Tucker.
That's not where the family tree stops. Life decided that Jacque deserved more siblings, so it surprised her with a sister when her dad married Eula "Granny" Watts. Just when she thought things couldn't get more interesting, her mom's remarriage brought her three sisters and two brothers - talk about an extended family extravaganza! She spent her life being the CEO of JLT Enterprise managing a challenging but entertaining crew.
Of course, Jacque didn't stop at merely having a big extended family. She married and brought six incredible children into the world, ensuring her life remained a whirlwind of love, laughter, and the occasional chaos-induced gray hair. She faced motherhood with the hilarity of a true comedian and the love of a thousand stars.
Her second greatest role was being the best Nana to all 20 of her beautiful grandchildren. When her son passed away Jacque she stepped up and started raising her “girls”. Julie and Addie. She loved dearly and put her all into raising them. Her love continued to grow when she was blessed with having 17 great grandchildren.
While Jacque's beautiful spirit will be dearly missed, she's now in the company of her loved ones who've passed before her, including her parents, sister Charlene, brothers Bobby and Frank, her sons Jeffrey Andrew Nance and Marcus Robert Thomason, and her precious grandson Stephen Sylvester and granddaughter Jossalyn Thomason. We're sure they've all gathered for the ultimate family reunion, sharing stories, laughter, and probably a few pranks. If we are being honest Bubba is probably overjoyed to have Mama all to himself.
She is survived by her Children Wesley Nance (Heather), Stephanie Pearson (Dan), Andrea Janssen (Chris) and Shanae Perkins (Bruce) along with her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
While Jacque may have left this world, her legacy of love lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to have met her. As we say goodbye to our beloved Mother, Mama, Nana, Nana Banana let us remember the joy she brought us, the comforting talks, shelter from whatever storm you were facing, the stories that will be passed down for generations, and the lessons in living life to the fullest - even if that means eating the occasional tuna casserole or perfecting hurling the stapler through the air with precise aim!
Jacque's legacy isn't just in the family she nurtured, but also in the countless lives she brightened. Her heart was boundless, and her spirit will continue to sprinkle joy wherever her memory is cherished.
In lieu of mourning attire, the family encourages everyone to wear their brightest colors to the upcoming celebration of Jacque's life, because if there's one thing she'd want, it's for us to celebrate with laughter, love, and a touch of her beautiful spirit.
In honor of Jacque, let's remember that life is meant to be lived fully, with laughter as the soundtrack. Rest easy, Jacque, knowing your legacy of love and laughter lives on in all of us.
