

James Edward Stuard was born on April 1, 1934, in Cisco, Texas to Voncile and Ed Stuard. They preceded him in death, as did his sister Betty. He was married to Joan Creagh of Breckenridge, Texas from November 27, 1953, until her death on May 28, 2005. He is survived by his sons, Jim and wife Eleanore of Rowlett, Texas, Terry and wife Elaine of Dallas, Texas, Gary of Winooski, Vermont and Michael and wife Deborah of Heeny, Colorado. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: James and wife Bethany of Katy, Texas, Rachel and husband Austin Traverse of Frisco, Texas, Courtney and Brian Koo of Longmont, Colorado, Travis, and wife Sarah of Scottsdale, Arizona, Alyssa and husband Dallas Booher of Arlington, Texas, Ryan and Timmy both of Austin, Texas. He was also blessed with six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
After the death of Joan, Jim met and married Martha Johnson on March 11, 2006. He was married to Martha until her death on August 16, 2022. He is survived by his three stepchildren: Cynthia Johnson of Horseshoe Bay, Blane Johnson and wife Kelly of Lincolnton, North Carolina, and Kelsey Johnson Philhower of Tucson, Arizona.
Jim went to Breckenridge High School. He served in the military for 12 years where he was sergeant of a tank division. He worked for many grocery companies, and eventually was hired by Fleming Foods to be a supervisor. Working for Fleming, Jim worked his way to the position of Executive Vice President of the company in the Southwest Region. He was with the company for 30 years. He received his business degree from Stanford University. Jim held himself and others who worked with him to the highest standards of ethical conduct as well as living his life as a believer without apology.
His hobbies included golfing, RVing, playing cards, and dominoes. He also was an avid Texas Longhorn sports fan, especially football. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls, Texas, where he served as a deacon for many years. Jim was a faithful witness for the Lord throughout his life, even up to the time of his death. He was a godly man, devoted husband and father, as well as a faithful servant of the Lord.
A celebration of life for James will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls Texas.
