

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jeanne Brulet Zinck, his children, Jean Carol (Jeannie) Zinck, his son, Joseph Zinck. (His daughter, Julie Zinck passed away in 2011). He had three grandsons, Andrew Aston, Aaron Aston and James Ashley Amonett, their families, nephews, nieces and Glenn Shimizu (Jeannie’s partner).
Born in Houston, Texas, James lived his early years in Huntsville, Texas. His parents were Howard Abraham Zinck and Gertrude Lamkin Zinck. He had one sibling, Alma Ann Reginier.
James was in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1954. After his military service, he attended Loyola Dental School in New Orleans and Graduated in 1959. He practiced dentistry for 15 years and then became a Professor of Dentistry in 1974, first at UT Dental School in San Antonio and then at LSU Dental School in New Orleans until 1995 when he retired to the Marble Falls Area.
James was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Marble Falls, Texas.
The family wants to thank all of his doctors, especially Dr. Scott Liggett and Dr. J. Coyle at Baylor Scott and White, the nurses and lab staff, Texas Home Health, his neighbor Larry Lakshaw and Glenn Shimizu.
