Jane graduated from Austin High School in 1945 and went on to the University of Texas where she received her Bachelors degree which she used to teach at Marble Falls High School. She met the cowboy love of her life Guthrie O’Donnell at Bluebonnet. They married in 1952 with the marriage going over sixty-six years until Guthrie’s death in 2018.
Jane gave up teaching to raise her three daughters. Her sewing abilities and other homemaking skills always came in handy while she was making things for her daughters. She loved serving as a volunteer at the Marble Falls Library Thrift Shop for 15 years. Jane and Guthrie enjoyed bridge at the Senior Center, dominoes, dancing, and traveling around to estate sales. Jane continued her passion for bridge and luck was always in her favor. Even at 96 she was able to wield a winning hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter Mary Patricia O’Donnell Allen. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy O’Donnell White and Lisa O’Donnell Schraub (DL); grandchildren, Ali Llewellyn, Carli Llewellyn Weissenborn (John), Jamie Allen Fagan (Chris), Jacqui Allen Dianella (Matt), Jay Guthrie Repka, Kendall McQuien (John) and Kasey Lira; 9 great grandchildren, Eva, Phoenix, Indie, Luca, Hadley, Crew, Carter, Ford and Gray.
