

Jim May, 77, of Horseshoe Bay, TX, passed away May 26, 2013 after a 5 month battle with heart and respiratory complications. Born February 3, 1936 in Raymondville, TX, he was the son of Claude & Edna (Beauford) May. He grew up in Raymondville and graduated from A & I University in Kingsville.
Jim was a band director in South Texas and San Antonio. The last 10 years of his career was as Coordinator of Fine Arts at Harlandale ISD. After retirement, Jim & Violet accompanied student band and choir groups on cruises.
He was a longtime resident of San Antonio, moving to Horseshoe Bay in 2008 to enjoy their retirement. They joined St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and the Horseshoe Bay resort. Jim enjoyed being on his boat on lake LBJ with family and friends. They also enjoyed cruising to many destinations and traveling abroad and last summer celebrated their 30th cruise.
Survivors include his wife & soulmate of 37 years, Violet May, sons Tim Moczygemba, Larry May, Phillip May & Robert May, grandchildren Turner & Parker Moczygemba, April (Gary) Davis, Casey (Lee) Hosler, Jamie (Allison) May, Kelly (Julie) May, & Lilly May and great grandchildren Alexis & Brock Davis, Aubry & Sydney Hosler, Ellie, Mollie, Gabriel, & Lucy May. He also leaves behind his beloved pets Walter, his Westie and his cat Boots.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jimmy May.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 5:00 PM with Rosary at 6:15 PM at Clements-Wilcox Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Reuben Patino officiating. Interment will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
