Teet Griffith was born Kathryn Louann Rogers in Watts, OK, on January 1, 1928. She was raised in Watts, where she was introduced to her future husband Robert Eugene “Bob” Griffith when she was an infant. She graduated from Muskogee, OK High School and attended the University of Oklahoma for 2 years. She married Bob Griffith in 1948. They started a life’s journey together that began with the poverty of a graduate student and progressed to the affluence of an oil company executive, taking them across the United States. She moved for the final time to Horseshoe Bay, TX in 2000. She was loving, practical, realistic, supportive, encouraging, and a constant in the lives of her loving children and late husband. She had a wonderful sense of humor and irony which endeared her to all who had the privilege to know her.
Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents Isaac Walton “Doc” Rogers and Kathryn Louann “Kate” Rogers, her brothers Eugene Rogers, Isaac “Junior” Rogers, and her sister, Mattie Francis “Sissy” Caddell. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Robert “Bob” Griffith.
She is survived by her children, Merry Louann “Tweety Bird” (Griffith) Noss, David Eugene Griffith MD, John William “Bill” Griffith and Nancy Ruth (Griffith) Ragland, 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at the Horseshoe Bay mausoleum where she will be reunited with her beloved husband Bob Griffith. A celebration of Teet’s life will be scheduled in the spring when wild flowers will remind us of the joy she brought to our lives.
David, Bill and Nancy wish to express our profound and sincere gratitude to our sister Merry for her unselfish companionship and loving care for our beloved Mother over the last 8 years.
The family wishes to express a special “Thank you” for the love and kindness shown to Teet and the family by the staff of Circle of Hands and Hill Country Memorial Hospice.
A special “Thank you” to her primary physician, Jere Robinson MD of Burnet Texas and her neurologist, David Morledge MD of Austin, TX.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
