Paul Donald Strickland Jr., 72, went to walk with Jesus unexpectedly on March 29, 2026. He was born to Paul Donald Strickland Sr. and Patricia Strickland on May 31, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He grew up in Pinedale, Wyoming with his siblings Jeff, Mary, and Steve. He enjoyed skiing and playing High School football.
Professionally, Paul loved commodities trading and had an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a natural leader and loved the challenge of calculated risk and probability. He had an incredible mind for math and analytics. One of his greatest career achievements was working at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Paul and his first wife had four children; Amanda, Sarah, Jessica, and Paul. In the early 2000s, in Austin, TX he met his soulmate and wife Suzy, where they started their 25-year journey. They spent the next adventurous years in Illinois and Florida, before finally coming home to Texas and settling in Meadowlakes.
Paul loved football, baseball, billiards, tennis, pickleball and skiing. His ultimate hobby was playing golf with his wife Suzy. He once lost a bet to her on the golf course and had to take her to Cozumel for their honeymoon.
The last 20 years Paul’s wardrobe consisted of denim, sunglasses, a cowboy hat, and his favorite cowboy boots. You could always see him coming no matter which state he was in.
Paul was a man who loved God. His favorite bible verse is Luke, Chapter 6. Paul noted in his bible it was the “way to live”.
Paul is survived by his wife Suzy Strickland, children Amanda (husband Chris, grandchildren Savannah and Cooper), Sarah (husband Ryan, grandchildren Karrington, Beckett, and Halle), Jessica (husband Travis, grandchildren Preston and Temperance), Paul (wife Tara, grandchildren Bella and Lily), Jamie (husband Ray, grandchildren Dakota, Buddy Lee, and Gabriel), Randi (grandchild Russell) and Tyler (wife Lily and grandchildren Walker and Paisley (on the way)).
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Patricia Strickland and his beloved Shih Tzu Libby.
