

He served in the Army from 1948 – 1949. In 1955 he moved to Marble Falls, where he owned and operated his own business, Fishers Iron and Metal, for 53 years. Richard also owned and trained race horses for many years.
He was a member of Henry Thomas Lodge in Smithwick since September 1975, serving as worshipful master in 1982 and again in 1987. He was District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 49 in 1998. Richard was also a member of Scottish Rites, Ben Hur Shrine and Burnet Commeanery.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Barbara Fisher, daughter Nickie Coughran & husband Brett of Marble Falls, five grandchildren: Richard Leon (Trey) Fisher III & wife Krista of Marble Falls, Holli Pringle & husband Steve of Lubbock, RoiAnn (Myers) Beseda & husband Tony of Marble Falls, Justin Ebeling & wife Kelli of Weatherford, and Meritt Coughran of Austin and four great grandchildren: Richard Leon (Seth) Fisher IV, Zane Pringle, Mina Pringle and Lyndi Ebeling. He is also survived by son-in-law Carroll Wendel of Cherokee, two brothers: David Fisher & wife Helen of Marble Falls and Mac Fisher of Houston, one sister Jeanice Croy of Sikeston, Mo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Richard Leon (Rick) Fisher Jr. and Frankie Joe Fisher, one daughter Vickie Wendel and one grandson Brian Fisher.
Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2012 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Stanley Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Pallbearers are James Holbrook, Archie Scott, Buddy Funderburgh, Archie Simon, Rick Allen, Carter Barcus and honorary pallbearer Jack Tate.
