Shirley Ann Murrell

Shirley Ann Murrell, nee Shirley Ann Barrington, was born February 10, 1948 and passed away at her home in Horseshoe Bay, Texas on Tuesday January 26th after battling Pancreatic Cancer for more than three years.

Shirley is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Jim Murrell, her mother Gladys Barrington, her daughter and son-in-law Dedra and Kevin Bouffard, two wonderful grandsons, Blake and Brooks Bouffard, her sister Rhonda Upshaw, her brother Nick Barrington, her sister Sandra Farmer, and their spouses and beautiful families. Shirley’s father, J.B. Barrington, was a WWII combat veteran who passed away in 2006.

Shirley was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from North Shore High School and she worked in administrative positions for several different companies in Houston and Dallas. She and Jim were married in Houston in 1979 and spent the first ten years of their marriage in Dallas. She always wanted to be closer to her family and in 1989 they moved back to Houston. Shirley retired in 2012 and in 2016 they moved to Horseshoe Bay to be closer to their daughter and grandsons.

Shirley was a beautiful, kind person and everyone who knew her loved her and respected her kindness and strength. She will be missed, loved, and never forgotten.

Shirley was a member of The Church at Horseshoe Bay. Because of Covid, there will be a small Celebration of Life for Shirley’s immediate family on Saturday, February 6, 2021. The service will be recorded and later in the year, after Covid is contained, there will be a memorial service for all those who loved her.
