

Simone Johnson, born on November 24, 1959, in Aurora, Illinois, peacefully passed away on February 29, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of Charles and Judith Jacobs, and a cherished older sister to Michelle Gardiner and Chad Jacobs.
Simone spent her early years in Missouri before moving to Texas with her Family, first in Arlington and then settling in Austin. She attended McAllen High School and later pursued her passion for floristry at Austin Community College. Simone was a talented floral designer and owned Brush Creek Florist, where she showcased her creativity and love for crafting.
Her passion for antiques would later lead her to open Simone’s Antiques, a beloved establishment in Fredericksburg and Round Top, Texas. Simone was a devoted mother to four sons and one daughter. With Steve Drousche, she had two sons, Shane and Seth Drousche. She later married Johnny Johnson and had two sons, Joshua and Brandon Johnson, and a daughter, Brittanie Visser. She found companionship with Mark Crumley and lovingly helped raise his two sons, Eric and Clinton.
Simone adored her role as a grandmother to 11 grandchildren, finding immense joy in spending time with them and creating lasting memories. Known for her welcoming nature, Simone always opened her home to her children’s friends, ensuring there was always room and food for everyone. Her favorite dish to cook was seafood boil, reflecting her love for seafood.
Simone found solace in painting, decorating, learning the guitar, and taking vacations to Port Aransas, Colorado, and various lakes and rivers in central Texas. In her leisure time, she loved dancing, playing pool, and listening to music of her favorite artist, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. Music would always fill her home with love and laughter. She loved springtime and capturing moments in the bluebonnets, as well as learning about birds, with a special fondness for hummingbirds.
Her home was a sanctuary filled with plants, reflecting her love for gardening. Simone’s spirit, kindness, and love for her family and friends will deeply be missed but always remember.
She is survived by her mother Judith Jacobs; sons Shane Droushce, Seth (Amber Drousche, Joshua (Kayli) Johnson, Brandon Johnson, daughter Brittanie (John) Visser, grandchildren; Josh (Megan) Ganci, Jarod (Karis) Ganci, Jacen and Jackson Drousche, Savannah, Colt, Bryan, Lilyann, Wyatt Johnson, Chet and Brynn Visser and two great grandchildren; Landon and Finley
