Born on September 25, 1956, in Michigan, Bernice lived a life full of love, warmth, and quiet strength. She was a devoted mother to Dawn (John) and Jill (Kyle), a loving stepmother to Starla, and a proud, adoring grandmother to Brendan, Jack, Adara, Jana, Max, Perry Bliss, and Archie.
Bernice was predeceased by her beloved son, Steven, and her loving partner, Enzo—both of whom held a permanent place in her heart.
She had a deep and lifelong love for the water, finding peace and joy in both the sandy shores of Marco Island and the tranquil lakes of Michigan. Whether watching a sunset over the waves or listening to the quiet lapping of lake water, Bernice found serenity and happiness in nature’s beauty. Her connection to the water reflected the calming presence she brought to those around her.
We will always remember Bernice for her grace, her gentle strength, and most of all, her gratitude. She approached life with a thankful heart—cherishing her family, her memories, and the simple pleasures that made each day meaningful. Her appreciation for life, even in its quietest moments, was an enduring gift to those who loved her.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Bernice will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 E. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM.
