She dedicated 30 years of her life to teaching English in the Jersey City Public School System, where she inspired and mentored generations of students with compassion, creativity, and unwavering dedication.
Cathy was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Frankie Spina. She was also a proud and supportive stepmother to Anthony and Frank, and a loving grandmother to Isabela and Joey.
After retiring from teaching, Cathy and Frankie moved to Marco Island, Florida, where she quickly became a vibrant part of the community. She was actively involved with the Moose Lodge and served as a board member at the Villas at Waterside. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit of involvement earned her a wide circle of friends and the deep admiration of many throughout the island.
Cathy’s kindness, sense of humor, and dedication to those she loved will never be forgotten. She touched the lives of so many—through her work, her friendships, and her deep love for family.
Family and friends are invited to a wake at Hodges Josberger Funeral Home in Marco Island on Saturday, March 29th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., to celebrate Cathy’s life and legacy.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Cathy's honor to Autism Speaks or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
