Doris "Dorie" Ann Simota, age 80, of Marco Island, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020. Born December 5, 1939 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ethel Cain-Slattery and Daniel Slattery. She practiced dental hygiene while living in Wisconsin, relocating to Marco Island in 1999. "Dorie" was known for her caring heart, open ear and a trusted confidant to many.
"Dorie" is survived by her spouse, Thomas Simota, Jr.; son Thomas Simota, III; sister-in-law Barbara Simota and sister-in-law Rosemary Simota-Thompson. She is also survived by many family members and friends in Wisconsin and Florida.
Preceded in death by father Daniel Slattery and mother Ethel Cain-Slattery.
She served as a Eucharistic Minister at San Marco Catholic Church. She was fascinated by the burrowing owls on Marco Island including sponsorship of one of the nesting burrows.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 10:00 am at San Marco Catholic Church with placement to follow in the Memorial Garden.
